Good-bye.....maybe

I am back from a wonderful weekend with 2 of my grands....it was wonderful. They make me laugh, feel loved and remind me of the simple things in life.

This post is a maybe....I am one of those bloggers who got the "we might delete you" warning a few weeks ago.  At the time, I actually just skimmed it, and mis-read it...shame on me a former English teacher. I thought it read...if you use advertising.....you will be gone!

I now realize, they sent me the warning because somehow they think i do...altho i don't see it, and consider my blog to be mild in sexual content, they are doing the judging,  judging not me. So i just wanted the chance to say good-bye and thanks for all of your support, in case i am not here tomorrow.
I am very lacking in tech knowledge....so the chances of me starting someplace else are pretty much nil, but i will continue to keep up with all of You....my blogging friends and 'family'.

Here's to hoping i did not need to post this,

  1. I didn't get one, or if I did I didn't read it. It will be easy as pie to begin another blog if you chose to. Please keep that in mind. I hope this is just foolishness. I didn't hear anything about this until today. It seems crazy to me.

  3. I received such a warning, basically it said I must not monetize my blog by showing ads to adult sites. I certainly have no advertising which could be said to "monetize" my blog. I show some links to other sites which have no adult content, plus the usual blogroll. I guess if you have a link to LDD for example, you might be said to have some connection with commercialising adult content, but it's a long stretch and I don't think it would count. There's probably no appeal if your blog is shut down, best to back it up somehow.

  5. I didn't realize people were being giving such a warning.
There are blogs that contain much more "adult" content than yours and they are still around. But, as Malcom said, I don't know what recourse you would have if blogger shut you down.

Does the same apply if you go private? Or could you switch to Wordpress? If you do disappear, you have my email, please use it and I will help you try to figure something out if you wish to continue.

Glad you enjoyed the time with your grands, I know how lovely that is.

  6. I received this warning too...I thought it meant if you advertised too and did not pay much attention to it...did I misunderstand as well? I am not very tech savvy either... if you learn anything more let me know...or I may be saying good-bye as well... Hugs, Terps

  9. so anyone knows if and what we have to do whether going private or taking blog rolls off or maybe we are fine just as is...

This is what the message said if you can translate for those of us less techy folks
:-)... You are receiving this message because you are the admin of a blog hosted on Blogger which is identified to have Adult content.

Please be advised that on June 30th 2013, we will be updating our Content Policy to strictly prohibit the monetization of Adult content on Blogger. After June 30th 2013, we will be enforcing this policy and will remove blogs which are adult in nature and are displaying advertisements to adult websites.

If your adult blog currently has advertisements which are adult in nature, you should remove them as soon as possible as to avoid any potential Terms of Service violation and/or content removals.

    Sincerely,
    The Blogger Team

  11. Hey girl, I got one too!!!

I'm figuring - kinda like Malcolm - that because I'm not monetizing my blog....I'm good. Back up your blog just incase. Email me if you have any questions (SirQsmlb@gmail.com) on backing it up. I hope you're still here tomorrow. I hope I am too :)

  12. Further to my earlier comment, back up your blog thus: go to your dashboard>settings>other>export blog (top of page) and save the XML file. Mine is about 2.5 MB. It's now saved on your computer and can be imported into e.g.Wordpress (but don't advertise there!)

  13. Hi Abby its the 1st July here and so are you. Dont be put off by technology. I did a practise run moving my blog to wordpress and was suprised how easy it was to do. Within ten minutes i had a whole new blog up and running with all my existing blogger content. I'll leave it there as a backup though its private.

  18. Hey abby...sure hoping you do start over if they delete you...I don't do advertising but I'm a wordpress girl. ( I think wp is easier to work with than blogger who I used to use for my vanilla blog)

So glad you had time with your grands...and that you're still here as I pop over on Tuesday!

  19. Hey abby - as you probably know by now, everyone with a content warning on their blog got the notice - I have a vanilla blog that I sometimes use salty language on, so it has a content warning, and I got the notice there also.

If you aren't advertising, I wouldn't worry too much going forward. I would really miss you if you were to go!
